I loved this book. I realise that i am probably prejudiced too! Gervase Phinn has a wonderful way with words, describing the antics of the students he encounters in his travels as one of her Majesty's school inspectors in the Yorkshire Dales. The story is light but the characters are real and identtifiable as people we may have encountered in our own school days or as teachers ourselves. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys James Herriot books or "Miss Read" book - they are in a similar genre :)
