This is a vary interesting book beyond the harp scene. There are all new plot twists including Erik being Raoul and Phillipe's half brother. I loved that Phillipe was in the story. Most adaptations leave out the older brother.
Its well written and nicely paced. The characters including Carlotta are fun to read. Carlotta is written as a strong character. Most adaptations show her as stupid and vain. Here she gets the oppertunity to be the hero and help out Erik and Christine. I loved how the writer gave Carlotta some intelligence and strength.
A great book. i highly recommend it to people who love phantom stories for Collette Gale combines bits and peices from various adaptations for this tale while giving it some original aspects.
