I tend to favor fiction but I heard an interview with Dan White about this book and was intrigued, so I bought a copy. I had a hard time putting it down. It is informative and entertaining and parts of it are actually laugh-out-loud funny. Dan White is an experienced camper and a writer who easily communicates his enthusiasm for camping to the reader. This is a great way to learn the history of something we tend to take for granted. I have given copies to several friends and I highly recommend this book.
