(A very definitive five-CD set from Texas Rose containing all of Milton Brown's recordings is also currently available.) The other band on this CD, Bill Boyd's Cowboy Ramblers, ranged from a quartet to a sextet and benefitted greatly from the contributions of Boyd on guitar, violinist Art Davis (who doubled on mandolin) and the vocals of several bandmembers. But actually the highpoint of their nine songs are two stirring instrumentals: "Under the Double Eagle" and "The Train Song."
