Nonostante pochi di questi insetti siano importanti dal punto di vista economico. La produzione di cotone ha richiesto una grande quantit??? di insetticidi per la protezione dagli insetti. Nella piantagione di cotone gli agricoltori hanno utilizzato circa il 22,5% del totale degli insetticidi impiegati.
