Sin embargo, en la actualidad los adjetivos terminados en -ado e -ido son deverbales (de verbo), mientras que los terminados en -udo son denominales (de sustantivo). Al revisar los or???genes de estos adjetivos se puede constatar que durante la ???poca medieval el adjetivo con sufijo -udo tambi???n ten???a un uso de origen deverbal (Malkiel 1994, Harris-Northall 1996). Sin embargo, hasta ahora s???lo se ha explicado su origen y algunas probables causas de su desaparici???n, por lo que en esta investigaci???n se muestra cu???l es el comportamiento, uso, desarrollo y el desuso del sufijo terminado en -udo en predicaciones durante el espa???ol medieval, bas???ndose en los datos que proporciona el CORDE (RAE), al mismo tiempo que se???ala causas intraling??????sticas que motivaron su desuso deverbal y permanencia en adjetivos denominales. Los resultados muestran que el verbo m???s productivo con el uso del sufijo -udo fue "tener" y otros de tipo cognitivo.
