Hence it is, that alongside of this move ment to modify the school curriculum, there are many suggestions for the better use Of holidays and leisure time. Reformers urge that the school buildings and parks may be more frequently used for recreation, wisely directed by grown up playfellows, that children should be prepared for their country holidays so that their eyes may be Opened to enjoy the beauties and wonders of nature; that holidays of weeks may be substituted for holidays of days, and, generally, that playtime may be made a growing time for both the minds and the bodies of the children.
