It is always easy in our society to extend democratic in fluence and democratic authority; but it is not always possible, it is very seldom possi ble, ever to get anything back that is once yielded up to 'd.emocracy (hear, hear.) If, therefore, our plan should seem at first sight somewhat too conservative - I repeat my own opinion, that it is a good fault, and the remedy may Safely be left to time.
