Two Men with a Mission
Leo Aleo and Billy Newman are two FBI agents on what seems to be a routine and very mundane mission. The two must pretend to be father and son while staking out the town of Taurus. Their main target of investigation is to watch the members of the Tonpowees Nation who are involved in a land claim dispute with the United States government.
At least, that is what the agents are led to believe. Upon reaching Taurus, Leo and Billy realize that the Tonpowees pose no violent threat to the government and are quite happy to resolve the issue in court. Thus, the mission seems to be just watching a nearby lake dry up, literally. Soon enough, the agents realize that their true mission is yet to be discovered.
I highly recommend Two Men with a Mission. I started reading this book with the intention of just reading a chapter or two and then making supper. Two chapters quickly became ten, then fifteen, until I was done. Not only did the characters and their initial relations draw me in but the author left a few tidbits here and there that got my mind questioning and wanting to know more. An excellent read.
