Meth and heroine use gives one admission to the eleventh circle of Hell. Reading Nic's descent is horrifying. He WAS a spoiled little asshole, but he admits it. I lived in So and North Cal for five years and this book validates everything I hated about the narcissistic culture of Calfornia.
Sheff is a gifted writer. Phillip S. Hoffman was found dead last night with a needle still in his arm. Let us hope that Sheff's talent doesn't end the same way. He is sober now and all good wishes that he will remain that way. It's a good scathingly honest book containing absolutely no "Drink the Kool Aid" bull or justifications.
