Aus der w???sten Masse gleichg???ltiger Aben teuer, die den Hauptteil des Romans ausmachen, k???nnen die auf dem alten Tristangedicht beruhenden Abschnitte wieder herausgel???st werden und ergeben wenigstens den Inhalt der verlorenen Quelle. In einem kleinen Gedicht von Tristans Narrenverkleidung (der Folie Tristan in der Berner Handschrift aus dem Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts) begegnen viele Anspielungen, aus denen der Inhalt eines weiteren, Berol und der Vorlage des afz. Prosaromanes nahestehenden Tristangedichtes zu entnehmen ist. Aus Berol, der afz.
