Limited private printing offered for subscription only to members of the Bibliophile Society. Text reprinted from the first edition of 1803 with some minor abridgment. No previous ownership marks. The account of four and a half years of travel through the Southern States of North America which began at the very end of the 18th century by a witty and observant Englishman. His observations and comments on the state of slavery are of particular interest, as are his comments of the new capital, Washington D.C. A clean, square, unmarked set. Vellum spine lightly toned but clean, with none of the blotching usually present. A hint of foxing to title-page in volume I, else a very clean set inside and out. Near fine. Clark vol.
