Seller's Description:
Very good, very good. 268, illus., bibliography, index. Introduction by Linda Householder. Foreword by Bill Conigliaro. Tony Conigliaro was an outfielder who played for the Boston Red Sox. During the Red Sox "Impossible Dream" season of 1967, he was hit in the face by a pitch, causing a severe eye injury and derailing his career. Although he would make a dramatic comeback from the injury, his career was not the same afterwards.
Living in Red Sox nation during the 1960's was a fantastic experience. Fenway Park really was a cozy wonderful place to watch a ballgame! Tony Conigliaro was never too busy to say hello or sign an autograph. His talent made games a real pleasure so it was heartbreaking when he was injured. His comebacks showed real guts and glory .
