Illustrated with photographs and sketch maps. First edition, first printing. No previous ownership marks. Dust-jacket protected by acetate wrappers. The third volume of the army series of the official history of Australia in the Second World War. The present volume describes the 9th Australian Division's contribution in 1941-42 to the defeat in North Africa of the German and Italian Army commanded by Field Marshall Rommel. With areogramme laid in from widow of recently deceased veteran of the 2/13th infantry battalion, dated 1972. Addressed to another veteran of the North African campaign. But for small tape marks inside covers [from adhesion points of acetate covers] a clean, square, fresh and unmarked copy. Very good+ in a like dust-jacket.
