The two versions are quite distinct in mood, and this fact alone testifies to the continuing interest of these works. The Violin Sonata No. 3 in C minor, Op. 45, is the only one of these works played with any frequency, but Urioste and Poster take the trio as a set and make a strong case for the first two. In their own words, they find "childlike wonder" in these sonatas, and their readings are graceful, gentle, and not without humor.
