He promptly turned a sour loser into a sweet winner. With his guidance, and that of the coaches that followed him, the Tigers continued to dazzle both fans and foes with repeated district titles. By the mid-1980s, the Tigers cruised to a 31-7 record over three seasons, including back-to-back appearances in the quarterfinals, but the frenzy that once drove an entire two crazy slowly disappeared, and the team has not been able to recapture that drive. Tiger Boogie is Kevin Taylor's salute to the coaches, the players, and the supporters of the Conroe Tigers football team.
