This is not a facsimile of the 1879 edition but rather a revised edition containing all of the original photographs but with some changes to the layout and a few corrections of misprints. Illustrated with sixty black-and-white photographs by John Thomson as well as drawings and maps. The dust jacket is protected by a Brodart mylar cover and is not price clipped. No remainder marks. Most books shipped within 24 hours. All books mailed with Delivery Confirmation. This is an ex-library copy with the front fly-leaf removed by a previous owner. The half-title contains a number as does the title page. The shadow of a Dewey number remains on the title page. Evidence of the removal of a book pocket is on the rear inside cover. The dust jacket has a small area on the spine where a label was removed. There are no rubber-stamps or other indication of what library to which this belonged. The contents are clean and bright and the binding is tight. Very good condition in very good dust jacket but it is ex-library.
