The pair balance hair-raising, finely tuned distortion with delicate acoustic instrumentation, creating a tense and unnerving effect. The title track combines swarming electronics with deep, plunging bass eruptions, along with unsettling Darth Vader-like breathing sounds. "Threshold of Faith (Your Own Blood)" seems barely related to its counterpart; it retains the deep, rumbling bass, but instead of distortion, there are crystalline layers of acoustic strings and pianos. "All That You Love Will Be Eviscerated" appears in two forms: A sparkling, fragile Albini version, and a brutal remix by Lotic which surrounds the original's twinkling tones with scrambled beats.
