The spotlight, though, rests on the idiosyncratic one with the spliff: Lee "Scratch" Perry. From those innovative days in the late '60s and early '70s to the final Jamaican years at his Black Ark studio, Perry is heard laying down some of his patented dub with the Upsetters ("Croaking Lizard") and putting his indelible production mark on vocal sides by Max Romeo ("War Inna Babylon") and Junior Murvin ("Police and Thieves").
