I first read it as a young boy, and I've been hooked on both the book and movie ever since. It's a fast moving and fairly gritty version of Ted Lawson's adventures, albeit one set to paper by author Robert Considine.
The edition I have has autographs from several of the raiders, which I greatly treasure. What a feat those young men pulled off, nearly 70 years ago!
