In his book, Anthony Bridge offers a very intriguing and well-written biography of the life of Theodora, the wife of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I. It describes the events of her life from her youth to her death, and how her political decisions affected those around her and Dark Age Europe in general. An excellent choice of book for those interested in the Byzantine Empire.
