Fair. xii, 273, (1), (22)p. Old but probably not original leather. 17 cm. Cover scuffed. No titling on backstrip. Lacks endpapers. Last few pages of Subscriber's List at end detached. Moderate browning and foxing. Written on the first blank leaf (which is in tatters and almost entirely detached): Thomas Down's Book bought at Danbury at the Printing office 3/4 July 12 A D 1792." The subscriber's list included the Mayor of New York, the Vice President, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of State, and the Chief Justice of the United States.
