His first book was 'The Wheat Pit', published in November, 1925, and reprinted later the same month (our copy is one of the latter). Dies specialized in the writing of non-fiction and fiction books dealing mainly with 'big business', and the buying and selling of commodities. His 1935 title, 'Street of Adventure' is one of the scarcest, and most sought-after, business books of the 20th century. Dies wrote 'The Wheat Pit' in 1925, and followed it up in 1929 with a novel entitled 'The Plunger-A Tale of the Wheat Pit'.
