Pogo stands watching Ivor then to teach him a lesson turns the washing machine on and wanders off. After being washed the door opens and all his magic is changed to good magic Ivor goes from being unpopular and unkind to being a local hero. His anger and hate melt away and he finally finds friends that he has always struggled to find. The whole book is done in rhyme which is a good learning tool for early readers to look at words that are similar. It is as the title hints quite witty with lovable characters that readers can connect with and relate to.
