She was active in the suffrage movement and illustrated How It Feels to Be the Husband of a Suffragette. In the Preface to The Six Best Cellars, the authors state" "Any one attempting to take the story seriously will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law," and go on to describe the effects of looming Prohibition on the lives of the suburban upper middle class.
