For those unaware, "The Sailor Dog" as it is currently printed leaves out 4 pages of images and some text. Having misplaced my copy from my father's childhood, I missed these original pages. I was unable to decipher at what point the issues left out these pages, ordering a 2000ish copy and later an early 80's copy. Both did not have the original pages. I randomly would check here on Alibris for an original copy and finally found one. I paid $35 for it delivered, which I consider fair, since it was so hard to find. The copy is in good condition for it's age. I read it to my 2 year old, but the one in his room is the newer copy. One day I'll let him have this one, when he stops enjoying randomly destroying a book or two!
FWIW, the newer copies are still totally worth buying as it is a great story!
