All over the world in my travels with the Army, I looked for MacDonald books and enjoyed them every one. While they are technically obsolete, the heart and humanization of characters are still unsurpassed excellence. I consider "The Last One Left", his best. It is one of the few books I have read several times. Always, when I close the last page I feel a sense of loss. This is a good read.
