Accurate Depiction of Events
I purchased this book as a cross reference to other books, articles and personal items I have on the subject of submarine warfare during WW I. My grand father was on the U-35 in the Mediterranean. The exploits of that sub were fairly well described in several areas. One that stands out and reflects the details the author injected is when the U-35 was rumored (according to the book) to have transported 2 camels from Africa to their Med base as a gift to an unnamed dignitary. It was actually 1 baby camel. I have a picture of the animal with my grandfather and another crewman to verify it.
