Size: 8vo 8"-9" tall; Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, neat and tidy paste-downs; not ex-library, with neither highlighting nor underlining. A bit of sunning along cloth over boards edges, else quite handsomely bound. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. Top-stained in red. The author, William T. Snaith, was President of the pioneering industrial design concern of Raymond Loewy/William Snaith, Inc., and died at the age of 65 in 1974 following open-heart surgery, architect by training, an avid yachtsman, and one-time student at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and the Fountianebleau Academy of Fine Arts. He had for a time also taken up painting during his Paris studies and had shown works at the Whitney Museum of American Art. ix [3], 3-277 pp. Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
