Teilhard is a difficult read for some of us. I'm sure I'd have an easier time if I could read the original in French. "The Heart of the Matter" let me into the man Teilhard more than his earlier books. We all have thoughts similar to Teilhard's as we go about the business of being human on this planet we call Earth. As we are filled with wonder at the awesome universe, and become aware of the organization of life, we try to put meaning to it all. If we are of one of the Abrahamic faiths we may try to understand it all in terms of God or Allah or Yahweh. If we are of one of the other faith traditions we may try to understand it in terms of nature or self or destiny or fate. Teilhard will help you along in that conversation with your creator.
