Small quarto (8.5" x 6.5") in hand tooled calf leather, [8], 630 pages-pages 19-22 and endpapers absent. Heavily worn and rubbed with much of spine covering chipped away, rear cover reasonably well attached, chips and overall wear to first several and final page, names neatly written at upper corner of title page, overall wear and age-toning to pages with occasional foxing. Handwritten note from 1926 on business billhead from Welchville, Maine mounted inside rear cover, explaining that the book was the property of Rev. John Church Howland who preached at Carver, Massachusetts for 59 years-along with additional family history going back to the Mayflower. Additional private library bookplate of Geo.
