A very interesting and entertaining book which introduces the characters of Chaucher's "The Canterbury Tales". In the Prologue, Chaucer both criticizes and praises certain aspects of Medieval Society, such as chivalry, which is an abundant quality in the Knight, and promiscuity, which is a quality found both in the Prioress and the Wife of Bath. The characters range from the most noble and moral to the most corrupt and immoral. Overall, a very entertaining read which produces a very clear image of Medieval Society, which Chaucer portrays through each of his characters in different ways.
