Seller's Description:
8vo. Original green pebble-grained cloth with gilt title. 112pp, v, (2pp). Very good. Bit of minor edgewear. Tight, attractive first edition of this bizarr-o U.S. history written in Biblical form, a popular if minor scriptural fad of the time. Front pastedown bears printed accession form (which notes it was acquired in 1923 for $4.00) of noted Lincoln collector George P. Hambrecht, who founded the Lincoln Fellowship of Wisconsin and who lightly pencils on inner flyleaf that pages 63-89 largely concern Lincoln. Much content of course devoted to the Civil War. Buck (1812-92) was a Wisconsinite who authored a 4-volume "History of Milwaukee." Not in Monaghan.
