History and adventure combined
Two New Zealand brothers, the Beggs follow in the footsteps of historian and early 19th century adventurer John Boultbee on his travels through Australia and New Zealand. They visit the sites of Boultbee's fascinating contacts with indigenous Aboriginals and southern Maori as well as early European whalers and sealers, presenting at the same time relevant excerpts from his detailed journal.
The reader cannot help but be spellbound as he is transported to a relatively unknown exotic part of the world to experience life first hand through the eyes of Boultbee in this extremely well written book. One of the best books I have ever read.
