All the chapters include extensive commentary by the Tripitaka Master Hsuan Hua, whose lively and highly accessible explanations show this ancient text's meaning as instructions for practice of the spiritual path even in the modern world. This set of fifteen volumes is a new English translation based on the first translation published by the Buddhist Text Translation Society between 1977 and 1998. The review and editorial work was coordinated by the International Institute for the Translation of Buddhist Texts at Dharma Realm Buddhist University.
