I have very little experience with reading Russian writers other than the "must reads" of classic literature. Thus, I find that they have aunique voice that I don't often notice in European fiction and this is what intriqued me about The Winter Queen.I did enjoy The Winter Queen as I got further in depth with the book and it is a good introduction to Russian nomaclature. I want to encourage lovers of mysteries to take a leap of faith and read The Winter Queen. The use of psychology is rather terrifying because the depths that people will go to please someone is all too persuasive in this day and age.
