This is the second book of the Historical Illuminatus Chronicles. It takes up more of less where book one left off, but it has a rather confusing start. If you can navigate the footnotes, the hoards of new characters and the continuously shifting point of view then I think you will love this book. You do not need to have read the first book before you pick this one up but I would recommend it for background information.
