Seller's Description:
Good. 8vo, plain wraps, 59 pp, good plus copy, wraps a little worn and front cover has the title and author in pencil and a pencil sketch of the Roman emperor Hadrian. The back cover features a large partly filled in pencilled initials "R. S."--probably the artist of the work on the front cover. Rare on the market and it's impossible to tell if libraries have only computer files, digitized copies or microfiche of this or whether a few have original copies. The author had published much work on the history of the region, including a novel, "Sim Greene, " set during the 1794 insurrection that took place mainly in Washington County and which was one of Washington's early crises in how to deal with a restive and rural population.
