Good. No dust jacket as issued. Book First Edition, title page dated 1855 with no additional printings noted. Subtitled: "The Campaign on the Danube, in Asia, and in the Crimea with a Glance at the Probable Contingencies of the Next Campaign". Tightly bound in embossed brown cloth with gold spine titles. Light edge wear and slight rubbing to the cover; the binding remains Very Good. The contents include a color fold-out map, "Russia in Europe", which shows a few tears and has older cloth tape on the reverse side. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There are no external indications of the library's ownership. A handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp are on the title page and some of the internal pages and the text shows some light soiling. Insured domestic Priority Mail and international shipping may require added postage charges.
