In the next 25 miles the line descends 1160 feet, with many windings, upon the Lake of Geneva, and passes a constant succession of beautiful views on each side. Six kils. before arriving at Lausanne it joins the railway coming from Geneva. Lausanne Station1 (1476 feet, 450 metres) is situated between the town of Lausanne and Ouchy, its port on the Lake of Geneva. Change here for Zermatt.
