This novel from Georgette Heyer is one of the best she wrote. The story is written with a very droll sense of humor and the romance taking place between the 2 main characters is subtle but warm and witty. A pleasure to read this novel. Maria Rennard

Charming Mystery!
I wonder if Georgette Heyer used herself as a model for the sensible, not so young woman with dry wit, she likes to portray in her books.
I am reading Heyer since I was 17 (1964). Her books have influenced my life, I contribute the compliments I get for being a poised and charming (older) lady to her books.
