The Consumer Rights Act of 2015 came into effect on October 1, 2015 with the aim of consolidating consumer rights which had hitherto featured in twelve (12) other legislations (and the over sixty (60) legislations which address the investigatory powers of the enforcers of consumer rights) into one place, whilst improving the realm of consumer protections in the interest of the consumer and adapting new trends which focus on setting out a basic modern framework of consumer rights, in order to increase consumer confidence and enhance implementation of consumer rights standards.
