Seller's Description:
None. Near Fine in Good jacket. A scarce first edition of this work by D. E. Stevenson. First edition, first impression. Dorothy Emily Stevenson, was a Scottish author, well known for her light romantic style of novel. The Two Mrs Abbotts is the third and final novel in the Miss Buncle series of books. Stevenson is perhaps best known for her Mrs Tim Christie series of novels. In a purple cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally in excellent condition, with just a few light marks to the boards. Spine slightly sunned. Ink inscription dated Christmas 1943 to front free endpaper. Dustwrapper is sound, with some chipping and closed tears to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Small loss to the front of the wrap. Tidemarks to the rear of the wrap. Handling marks and creasing to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with just some marginal age toning, due to paper used. Near Fine.
A decent third in the "Miss Buncle" series though perhaps not quite as entertaining as the previous two. Nevertheless, a well-written story as you would expect from D.E. Stevenson
