Does not live up to title
The Series was called "The Tudors, but was actually an extragavantly sex-soaked remake of the 1970 series, "The Six Wives of Henry VIII". The reign of the First Tudor, Henry VII lasted 27 years, but is only briefly mentioned in Season 1 Episode 1 While the reigns of Edward VI, "Bloody" Mary I, and Elizabeth I (56 years) are mentioned only in the last few moments of the Season 4 Finale. Costuming is excellent, sets beautifully done, but the aging of the characters is extremely uneven. While he is a fine actor, the casting of Jonathon Rys Meyers as Henry VIII, and then making no effort whatsoever to make him look like Henry (wrong hair color, wrong beard style, wrong eye color, wrong build) was, in my opinion a terrible mistake. Evidently, Showtime focused more on sex-appeal than history by having him appear more like an Italian Gigolo, than the English monarch.
