Morgan's gift
I did not like this book as much as Gap Creek in general. Morgan does have the gift of creating this period in enrapturing stories and uniquely narrated from a female first person perspective. The ending is worth reading this book as it alone is probably the most poignant capture of the trials of life and the reader will be left with soul searching thoughts long afterward.
