The "Trail Drivers of Texas" is like the story of "Lonesome Dove" between two book covers. What makes this book so fascinating is, what is recorded here really happened ! All those that contrbuted something they remembered about trailing cattle up the trail north, had to have lived the experience and been there. Without this prerequisite, there account didn't get in the book. We must treasure their stories of this exciting and brief period of rangeland history and realize how fortunate we are to still have such an amazing document in print.
