Octavo, original pictorial cloth with gilt titles to the spine, front and rear panel, gilt ruled, colored frontispiece with tissue guard, illustrated with 60 drawings by the author. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the second free endpaper, "To S. D. Green with well best wishes of Ernest Seton-Thompson." In very good condition. Naturalist and wildlife artist Ernest Thompson Seton was one of the founding pioneers of the Boy Scouts of America, particularly the appropriation and incorporation of what he believed to be Native American elements into the traditions of the BSA. A prolific writer and artist, several of his works have been adapted for television and film including the 1989 to 1990 Japanese Seton Animal Chronicles.
