Very good. 1st Edition. xii, 338pp. Octavo. Green cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Gold and black lettering and illustration on front cover. Some wear to boards with light bumping and wear to ends of spine, corners and top back edge of boards. Spine is somewhat darkened and writing is rubbed. Some foxing to endpapers carried through slightly to the pages next to the endpapers. Previous owners name on page after front free endpaper (1933). B/W frontis. Several B/W illustration throughout text. Reddish top edge of text block. Other two outer edges of text block have been roughly trimmed. Clean, tight text block with only some lightly scattered foxing. In dust jacket, price clipped. The jacket is rubbed with some creasing, soiling and wear (especially at spine and edges). The dust jacket has some chipping along the top and bottom with a few small closed tears and some minor professional restoration done. A nice copy. very good Illustrated by the author. A true first edition as signified by the Scribner's A. Will James was a cowboy, cattle rustler, beloved author and artist of the American West.
