Despite its being about one-third the size of the full text, this abridged version is still right on the money. Nothing culturally is lost in the version and the reading of it has made it more accessible to the reader who wants to get an accurate picture of the times and people. Too little is known of Asian cultures, especially of this period, and the availability of the text bridges our cultural gap.
