Science: What kind of squirrel is in the story based on the pictures? What season of the year is it? Ecology: How does collecting help or hurt the environment? How does collecting things help the environment? Math: How many paperclips can you get into a box? (You choose the size) Art: What could Whitney make with the collected items? (use this as a project springboard)
Math: Which collected item would weigh the most? the least? Have students gather items, weigh them and then graph them. Problem Solving: What would you do to help Whitmey organize the collectec items?
